The HSS Football Team recorded their first ever win in 2011 when they thrashed OPUS Berhad in yesterday's (26 November 2011) match held at HSS' "home ground", Bandar Sri Permaisuri Mini Stadium. The match started well for the home side with HSS controlling much of the possession. Starting striker, Kavhn had two goals disallowed through offside early in the game.
However, it did not take long for HSS to take the lead after a sublime finish from outside the box by Shazwan Suhaimi which caught the OPUS keeper off-guard. The goal meant that Shazwan remained the only HSS player who has found the net following his hattrick in their first game lost to Bandar Tun Razak.
That is about to change after Ariff (Bard) scored from the spot after he was deemed fouled in the penalty area. With that goal, the first half ended with HSS leading 2-0.
The second half saw whole different affair altogether. With exhaustion creeping in, HSS decided to defend and counter attack during most of the half with outstanding saves by Faizal Daneal managed to frustrate the OPUS frontline. And through one counter attack move, HSS managed to extend their lead through Kavhn after a very good move by Kangka Rao.
The game ended 3-0 and HSS will be looking forward to the return match at OPUS in 2-3 weeks time.
